Fredericton Region Solid Waste will host its first off-site Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection day of the season on Saturday, June 10 in Nackawic.

The site will be at the Nackawic Lion’s Club parking lot from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

FRSW hosts three off-site remote HHW collection days a year.

The event is open to Nackawic and its surrounding areas, but is for residential purposes only.

Commercial waste will not be accepted.

It’s an opportunity to properly dispose of all poisonous, corrosive, flammable, old and left over products that cannot be safely poured down the drain, placed in the garbage, buried or burned.

All containers must be 20 litres or less.

Some common items brought to HHW remote events include paint, gasoline, batteries and motor oil.

For further information, contact FRSW’s Recycle Hotline at 453-9938.

Fall locations will be announced later this summer.
